3.3 to 9.8kWh battery storage system
The LG Chem is a Residential Energy Storage Unit (RESU) featuring a 48V (nominal 51.8V) and 450V lithium ion battery with integrated battery management system.
The battery is designed to tie in with a grid connect solar system to increase self-consumption and savings. An additional inverter (e.g. SMA Sunny Island) is also required. Of course, the battery pack can also be utilised in an off-grid situation.
The LG Chem has a life expectancy of over 10 years (and a ten year warranty to prove the point). It can be cycled (discharged and re-charged) 6000 times to 90% Depth of Discharge (DoD), meaning only 10% left in the battery. In $/kWh, this is possibly the cheapest battery on the current battery market.
The battery pack is big enough to offset the evening energy use of an average household. Smaller households could cover evening and early morning electricity needs.

The compact and lightweight nature of the RESU is world-class. It is designed to allow easy wall-mounted or floor-standing installation for both indoor and outdoor applications. The inverter connections have also been simplified, reducing installation time and costs.
